Let’s face it — “night owl” used to be trendy. But somewhere along the way, it started feeling less “cool” and more like torture when the alarm rings. So here’s a hot take: the best way to seize the day is to start by seizing the night…by calling it quits early.

Here are 24 reasons I swear by my early bedtime. If you’re not convinced, just try a week. I dare you.

1. You’ll Actually Get Enough Sleep

Forget that “I’m functioning on four hours” flex. Eight hours? That’s the real flex. Going to bed early gives you time to hit that ideal number without feeling like a grizzly bear the next morning.

2. You Wake Up (Almost) Happy

You know that irritating morning chirp from birds? Go to bed early, and it might just sound delightful instead of reminding you that sleep is over.

3. Skin Rejuvenation Time

Your skin does most of its repairing while you sleep. Go to bed early, and let your skin take care of itself — who needs fancy serums…
